Components of Satellite Communication System

component of satellite communication systems in general, a satellite communication system can be divided into 2 parts..

The first part of the ground segment and its component parts which are support tools that are in earth stations. This section usually consists of: satellite modem, out door unit (RF-Unit), and a satellite dish. in establishing gruond segment, there are a few things to note. among others:
  • direction of transmission to the satellite to be used, should not be obstructed. when blocked by trees, buildings, or other, signals emitted certainly can not reach the satellite in space.
  • transmit power, this is usually influenced by the power of the RF units and antenna gain.

The second part of the space segment, this section is the satellite itself. satellite has several characteristics, for example:
  • frequency bands: C-Band, Extended C-Band, Ku-Band
  • coverage: work according to the satellite coverage, so only the areas that are in range can receive signals from satellites.
  • Power: every transponder on the satellite has received transmite gain and gain, therefore each user must adjust transmite power for satellites to work properly.
